| 1954-2008 • Celebrating 50+ Years of Service to the Greater Monsey Community |
AlumniHebrew Quote - Vayikra 25:10 In the fall of 1954, the Hebrew Institute of Rockland County (HIRC) opened its doors. Twenty-six children entered the region's first Modern Orthodox yeshiva that combined strong academics with a love for Eretz Yisrael.
OUR FIRST GRADUATES - THE CLASS OF 1960 In fall of 2004, nearly three generations later, 410 children walked through those same doors. Now called the Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy of Rockland (ASHAR), our commitment to providing the finest Judaic and secular education is stronger than ever. As we enter our 50th anniversary, our "Yovel," it is time to return to our "family," the people who provided the basis of our Jewish and secular educations. It is a special time to look back and reflect on ASHAR's history. It is a time to celebrate our past accomplishments and to look forward to many more successful years. As part of this special celebration, we are introducing the ASHAR Alumni Association. . It is with great pleasure and honor, that we welcome you back to ASHAR Family. It is our hope to keep you and your fellow alumni up-to-date on the exciting happenings in school. By keeping the lines of communication open, we can share our memories as well as build a stronger school for our future alumni. Please take a few moments to fill out our alumni questionnaire. Check back often for details on upcoming Alumni Association events, newsletters and programs.
